Punjab to Adopt Emerging Technologies & Innovation in Digital Assets: CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif warmly welcomed and met a delegation of Damac Group led by its CEO Amira Hussain Sajwani and MD Ali Hussain Sajwani. She invited Damac Group to invest in Punjab, and discussed strategic investment opportunities in various sectors. An agreement was reached in the meeting to accelerate tokenization of government and commercial assets, besides reviewing a proposal for pilot tokenization of commercial assets in Nawaz Sharif IT City.

The delegation of Damac Group thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the warm welcome, and expressed interest in investing in Punjab. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed happiness over Punjab adopting emerging technologies and innovation in digital assets. She noted that foreign direct investment (FDI) in digital assets and new technology is making Pakistan a gateway. She highlighted that Punjab is Pakistan’s largest IT and digital economy with a 65% share in its IT exports, besides producing a valuable workforce of over 25,000 IT graduates every year. She underscored that Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, and Gujranwala are emerging vibrant technology hubs in Punjab, and Pakistan will become an emerging hub of IT and digital innovation in the world.

Chief Minister Punjab said that the best and most opportune time has come to invest in Punjab, as it is a land of vast opportunities for the youth. CEO CBD Punjab Imran Amin briefed the delegation about CBD Quaid District Master Plan, Skyline Tower, Five Star Hospitality Tower, Hyper Retail Mall and other projects. He said that CBD Punjab and RUDA have many opportunities for tokenization, as CBD Punjab and Nawaz Sharif IT City are playing a dynamic role in the economic development of Punjab.
